About BW Miller (a most passionate golfer)

"Income tax has made more liars out of the American people than golf."
— Will Rogers, humorist

April 4, 1932 - April 4, 2002

Billy Wilson "BW" Miller graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1954 and received his Masters from UNC in 1957. Mr. Miller was also a member of Beta Gama Sigma and received the first CPA scholarship ever offered by the University of North Carolina.

Mr. Miller started his career with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and held NC CPA Certificate Number 1425 issued January 25, 1958. In 1973 Mr. Miller founded BW Miller & Co. and earned a reputation as one of Charlotte's premier accounting practitioners. In the early '90's David McNeish and Tim Breedlove joined Mr. Miller to form the practice currently know as Miller McNeish & Breedlove, PA.

Mr. Miller's consultative approach to serving his clients formed the foundation on which we practice today. Mr. Miller was not just the "tax preparer" or "auditor"; he ascended as a valued advisor to his clients and their families and business associates. Many a family or business would not make a substantial financial decision without Mr. Miller's input and advice.

And finally, Mr. Miller was known far and wide for his love for the University of North Carolina, and in particular the Carolina Basketball Program. Mr. Miller attended 596 consecutive Carolina basketball games over an 18 year period, resulting in his recognition as a Priceless Gem by the University in March 2002.
